POF Central Library was established in 1984. Its building has covered area of 37,000 sq ft at a cost of Rs. five million. Lt. Gen (R) Talat Masood, Chairman POF Board was its innovator, who inaugurated POF Central Library on 09th October' 1984. Whereas Late Abdul Malik Ex-FAOF was its founder, who laid down its foundations stone on 18th July' 1982, his contribution towards initiating proposal, construction and establishment are immortal, may his soul rest in peace.
The foremost objective of its establishment was to promote educational and cultural activities and to update the standard of the literary activities, literacy rate in Wah Cantt. Further more to boost up the technical skill, recreational and healthy trend in order to relieve the tiresome of POF employees by working in industrial environment. The purpose was added by facilitating the researchers, scholars and educationists without any discrimination of membership in the larger interest of the state and nation.

Establishment of Rear Hall
Establishment of the Rear Hall implied to give the scholars, educationalists, students and the residents of Wah the opportunity of get to gather for the interaction and know-how about the subject of events. The rear hall is devoted for the literary functions, e.g. launching of New Book's Ceremonies, Book Fairs, Poetic Student competitions, pictorial & artistic exhibitions and national ceremonies, etc. All these functions are held to create national harmony, unity, faith and discipline.
Facility of Internet, Membership Data and Books Detail
Establishment of Internet Section is anticipated shortly. Computerization of Library is under action, in the first phase, books are being computerized, and in the second phase memberships would be computerized and in the last books would be issued / received through computerization.
In short, this Library has 43,000 books 9041 persons have obtained its membership so far. Approx 150/200 subscribers' attend this Library on daily basis
